Hi hi there again. This is probably the second week of my holidays and yet,I have not completed ALL the homeworks given.and I'm here blogging (ironic much).Anyway, just wanna spend some time blogging about the recent family trip that we had to kiasu land!oops..i mean..Singapore :)
Yes this is probably the third trip I had there.
E last time was when I was in form 3 and we had this short shopping trip there.Been planning on this one about a month ago with sis before I even left for college. However,we planned to go there and 'attack' the crazy sales to get some clothes and even baby stuffs (few months away from the big day!).HOWEVER,plans changed because bro and dad agreed to follow along this time. You know..the hassle of having guys around when girls are shopping. So we switched up the plans a bit and made it into something more...family-oriented?
First day
Took Firefly flight there from Ipoh.We would actually take a bus or so but having a pregnant lady around..mmm..impossible!hahaha.Our flight was at 11.35 and we arrived at the airport at about 11 to get all the procedures done.
(P.S I will put most pictures in collages form to save space )
Everyone before departure!
Ooh I sat alone during the flight. But it was okay..comfy and all.Reached Singapore land at about one o clock and bro-in-law came and picked us up.
First stop : Turtle soup for lunch!
This is probably one of the reason why bro likes to visit Singapore. As cruel as it is,the turtle soup taste reeaaallllllyyy good.Guilty pleasure :( anyway,I shall forgive myself since its not like I take this every week or something.hahaha.Dad tried this for the first time and we're glad that he liked it too! :)
Next stop,bro-in-law dropped us off at Marina Bay Sands for some sight-seeing and shopping.
Initially our hotel should be there but because it is a public holiday (Hari Raya),the hotel was fully booked and I dont get to enjoy swimming at the sky-high swimming pool :(
What we did there was shopping and shopping.no wait...more of like WINDOW SHOPPING.The thing is..the place there is really high-end so we couldnt really get anything that is oferrr...our price.hahahah.Sis managed to get her baby stuffs though and we bought ice-cream as desserts. It is quite a nice complex, and it was pretty crowded too actually. They have a skating rink there which bro and I thought it was an ICE skating rink.
Some of the pictures I took of them.
Macaroons,anybody?
If you ever use the MRT passage to the Gardens by the Bay,you'll get to see nice creative walls along the long passage way.of course,we took advantage to take some pictures.Bro was with the DSLR all the time and he had to keep helping sis and mum to take pictures.Literally every walls were painted with different colours and different flowers.ME..of course, camwhored with the diff walls.hehehe.
hahaha i find this funny.Sorry for the blur shot at the 4th.Seriously,I smiled the same way in every picture.LOL See how the backgrounds are of different flowers? :)
Outfit of the day!
Then we crossed the bridge from the complex to Gardens by the Bay
Its sort of a new place in singapore right now since it was only opened a month ago I guess?Sis and I thought it will be a suitable place for mum and dad since its all about nature and sceneries.
Turns out,it is quite a nice place indeed! For those of you who enjoy just walking around, watching plants and good ol nature,Gardens by the bay is a must-go!
They have names for their Gardens like Indian garden,Chinese garden and Malay Garden.Sis and I were talking about how racist they made nature look.LOL.As you walk in,each garden has its own uniqueness according to the name/race that was given. For example, they have lotus in the chinese garden. They even have Indian patterns on boards of the Indian garden. It really gives you the feeling that you're in some cultural garden.hahah.On the day that we went, the place was packed i tell you, sandwich packed! But then again,as I said..its probably cause of the fact that we went on a public holiday. The weather was also pretttyyy hot so advice to all, please bring a cap when you visit the garden.
Just a shot of me in the Chinese Garden. Was wearing a floral dress from Brands :)
Other places like the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome.
For those of you who planned to visit these two places,it will be way helpful if you can book the tickets for going.Like for us,we gave up lining up because the line was currr-ra-zehh!
At night,we waited till 8pm for the Light & Water show at Gardens.
Apparently, its a show of the LED lights that will light up what I call the little mushrooms at the Gardens.
Sis bro and I secured a pretty good spot from the bridge right across to have a nice view of it.
Constantly the lights kept changing colours and it has various patterns on it.It was written on the pamphlets that there will be water spurting out of it and that we will get to enjoy the light and water effects.Well, the thing is..I even went to look at the video of the show to get a rough idea what the show is about.Sis and I kept waiting and waiting for the water to come.To our dismay, there was no water! It would have been better with some water effects.Maybe sis was right..they did not pay their water bill that month LOL
Did some research on what we could do in Marina Bay Sands before the trip.
I even asked around.Shu Yee then mentioned to me about a Harry Potter exhibition that will be held in MBS.Immediately,I got excited.I mean..come on,I grew up watching Harry Potter and I've been on the movie from the first till the 7th instalment.hahah.So bro and I bought ourselves ticket each to get into the exhibition.Didnt know what we can expect from it,but I'm sure it will be something relatable to our childhood :)
One thing though, its sad that we weren't allowed to have flash photography inside the exhibition hall. Before we entered,we were given a Hogwarts scarf each for some sort of photoshoot for those who wish to purchase it for memory purposes. For the first room that you enter, they will make the whole touring as though as you're entering the real Hogwarts (well that is if you really remember the first movie). The most interesting part is that they used to Sorting Hat to "sort" out the volunteers before proceeding to the rest of the hall.Hahhaha.Then we went on our own, looking at all the cool exhibition stuffs.Like literally the items were well displayed with helpful signboards describing in which installment that the items were used and who used it.Remember the pretty dress that Hermoine wore during the Yule Ball?Yes I saw it there too!
and oh,there will be souvenirs sold too.You get to purchase the chocolate frog, and some books, wands, broomstick, hoodies, shirts and the scarf.Seriously I regretted for not getting the Griffindor hoodie :(
So for you Potterheads, this is an exhibition that you should not miss!
Taken outside the exhibition hall
Day Two
Woke up early to have some breakfast right across the hotel. We walked by the river to a stretch of coffee houses.Omg I tell you the smell of coffee.mmmph! It was about 10 in the morning and we decided to indulge into some English breakfast.
Then we took the shuttle bus service provided by the hotel to Orchard Road.
First stop,Takashimaya!Here...didnt get much stuffs.Except that sis got her baby stuffs since the equipments here seems much much cheaper.oh yeah, got myself a great organiser/mousepad.
Then we headed off to Mandarin Oriental for lunch.According to sis, there's this great japanese restaurant that sells great ramen.hahaha .The first thing I said when we reached was like "ARE YOU CRAZY?!" thats cause the waiting line was..jaw-dropping.Seriously how good is the ramen there?
We only got to sit after 45 minutes of wait.
Crazy but it was reaaalllly worth the wait.Seriously,so good!Even saw Andrea Fonsenka there.Could've said hi but maybe I wasnt too sure whether it was her or not.hahaha.
We then took the cab to Bugis Street.
It was indeed a place for teens.I mean..comparing,,its almost like the Hip Hop arena we have in Ipoh Parade. However, its a place with all the nice fashion stuffs and bags and accesories and all the other things.hahaha.Not much of a place for adults.Didnt get to buy any school bag because nothing really attracted me there. How sad.Anyway, bought some new ribbons! :D
All 6 for 10$.Which makes it RM 24.
God knows what's up with me and ribbons these days *shakes head*
hehehe.and that makes up day 2.
I would LOVE to continue about day 3 but that will be another longggg post since we spent the whole day in USS.and also its 1.39am here and I'm suppose to be submerging myself into bio facts.hehehe
To be continued tomorrow.
Goodnight bloggers!
xoxo
